Duck Creek: Part 2

This is what our little Carter family of three does at night while camping...

We make cheesy faces at the camera while snuggling in bed, per Abi's request. :)

Duck Creek: Part 1

We were lucky enough to spend a few days in this beautiful place...

We are so in love with Duck Creek! It's one of the most peaceful places. We spent 3 amazing days with David's family (minus Kim, whom we missed SO much!). We LOVED every minute! We spent time soaking  up the sun, listening to thunderstorms, snuggling in our big sleeping bag together, eating delicious food, throwing rocks in the pond, driving and driving and driving some more, hiking to beautiful sights, chasing chipmunks & squirrels, and relaxing, so much relaxing!

Abi loved sitting in the little chairs.

She would beg and beg Colten to sit with her. This picture describes the situation perfectly! Haha!

We saw a lot of wildlife, deer, squirrels, birds, antelope, fish, but the coolest was seeing an owl!

Showing Papa the owl.

The beautiful Heather and little buddy Colten. (She's so dang photogenic!)

Sweet Carlie. :)

My handsome husband! Yeah I'm lucky, I know.

This look is code for, I think you've taken enough pictures!

My love and I.

I know this picture is on here twice but it's one of my favorites. David was sweet enough to carry the babe so I could get in my obsessive picture taking. I seriously could not get enough. The day was absolutely perfect! There will be more to follow shortly. :)

This not so old couch...

It's funny how you realize the value of something once it may be gone. Or how you realize, "maybe I don't want to get ride of it" when all you've been trying to do, is just that.

This couch has been such a pain in my rear end since we have moved into our current place. (Please excuse my French.) It has taken up so much space in poor Abigail's room. I have thought of endless possibilities for what could go on that wall once it was gone. Not to mention how it doesn't match anything in her room.

But...

Today as Abigail and I snuggled before nap, I realized how much I've actually loved having this couch in her room. It may not match or fit very well but it's been were we sit every night as our little family of three to read books before bedtime, to kneel in front of to have family prayer. It's been where I snuggle with my little Sunshine before she takes a nap or goes to bed. It's been where I've slept when she's been sick and I didn't want her to sleep alone. It's where daddy and Abi sit together and read books when I'm at work. It's where extra guests sat when we blessed Abi because our front room is too small. So even though it's been such a nuisance, I'm going to miss not having this huge miss-matched couch in her room.

Sleeping Babe

LOVE this picture. :)
Sweet dad snuggling with his sleeping Abi.

Another post about Farr's Ice Cream...

Yet another post about my favorite ice cream...
This special treat came all the way from Utah.

That's how big a deal this was.

My siblings came over to join in the celebration and Abigail gave them quite the show!
She thoroughly enjoyed the Playdough ice cream. To be honest though I think I was more excited than she was. Sad, but true.

She's such a ham!

First official day of nursery!

A few pictures of the little miss before her first "official" day in nursery. I can't believe she's 18 months old!

Baby Hunger

Abigail Reese 2 days old

I was looking through old pictures today and couldn't help posting this.
